belltown yacht club presents:
Supercrush, Gentlemen Rogues, The Drolls, and Prim
Supercrush
Although best known for playing in a long lineage of hardcore, punk, and metal groups, Mark Palm’s focus has always been song-craft and pop sensibility. After beginning to explore softer sounds in the late aughts as a member of San Francisco shoegazers Modern Charms, Palm adopted the Supercrush moniker as a vehicle for his pursuit of powerpop preeminence.
Gentlemen Rogues
Gentlemen Rogues play power-pop/punky rock n roll kinda stuff, in the vein of The Replacements, Superdrag, or Husker Du.
We have some friends in some local Seattle bands that can likely share the bill with us...Supercrush, The Drolls (ex-Sicko), and/ or Night Court (Vancouver, WA).
In fact, Julie from The Drolls will likely be reaching out to you about this show, soon.
Gentlemen Rogues recently played support for Superchunk, and also played sole support on Bob Mould's Texas dates, for his Distortion and Blue Hearts tour. We’ve also played support for band such as The Lemonheads, The Dandy Warhols, Mrs Magician, Smoking Popes, and Riverboat Gamblers.
One of our recent singles, "Do The Resurrection!" was handpicked by Stevie Van Zandt this past February as "The Coolest Song In The World" on his SiriusXM channel and terrestrial radio show Little Steven's Underground Garage, and garnered heavy airplay throughout the past several months. "Do The Resurrection!" was also listener-voted as "The 6th Coolest Song of 2021."
More about the Gentlemen Rogues:
Austin TX-based Gentlemen Rogues celebrate aggressive guitar pop, with punk-inflected energy, polished, precise songwriting, and hooks as sharp and sleek as the Rickenbackers they bang them out on. This is a four-piece for Now People, drawing inspiration from UK legends like The Jam, XTC, The Smiths, and Teenage Fanclub, while steadfastly blasting their own course through an American indie rock canon shaped by The Replacements, Sugar, and Material Issue...Manchester by way of the Midwest. Collectively, Danny Dunlap (vocals, guitar), John Christoffel (guitar), David Hawkins (bass), and Josh Power (drums) crank out catchy, amplified treble kickers, mixing powder keg intensity, classic melodies, and brash theatrics into a 200-proof distillation of brazen rock ‘n’ roll
The Drolls
We used to be in other bands. One of us is still in another band. Two of us used to be in another band together. Now we're in this band.
