Piston Ready, Ball Bag, The Mercy Ray

Piston Ready

Take the Motor City sound, bend it with deep fried southern rock, add a little 80’s L.A. flavor then pair it with a pint of good bourbon and you get the original PISTON READY sound. No remorse, straight forward rock n’ roll in your face Strong vocals and octane fueled guitars are what hit you first, the power grabs you then controlled chaos grips you, leaving ever-so-satisfying destruction in it’s wake.

The band was formed in September of 2010, after singer Lauren Banshee and lead guitarist Seawolf Dee met on a sunny summer afternoon while drinking sweet tea vodka. Fueled by a mutual interest in American and Scandinavian high energy Rock n’ Roll, the two started writing original material like they used to do in the good ol’ days; with a guitar and a couple of beers. In a few months they found the rest of the bands members among friends (Ocean Ford- bass guitar, Mike O’clock – rhythm guitar and Danny Vondirtbag – drums) and just 4 months later, they played their first show.

Pandemic hits hard and Piston Ready is not spared. Forced to stop for several months the beast is all but tamed. The three original members get back on the saddle and while looking for for a second guitar player they recruit Dan Pearson on electric piano to add a 70’s flare to their sound. Something they felt it was missing. Soon after the uber-talented guitarist Dallas Gilmore gets the job and the lineup is once again complete.

Ball Bag

Fresh off their new release, Bear vs. Otter, 3 piece Ball Bag LTD drips with sarcasm and disclaims they can’t promise you a “great” time or even a “good” time, but can promise you an “okay” time.

The Mercy Ray

Now playing as a trio, The Mercy Ray packs a punch. Think Foxboro hot tubs father a child with the Lunachicks and you got this bastard child punk assembly. Driving rhythm barrels through catchy rousing lyrics and straightforward guitar riffs. Quintessential face melting shit that makes you swing a beer in one hand and an air guitar in the other. This is why live music will never die because the energy flying off these three... is a Mercy Ray of Holy fuck-off.
