MILC Does Seattle, Hosted by Rik Rude

milc does seattle:

Milc / AJ Suede / Greg Cypher / Deniro Farrar / Televangel

Hosted by Rik Rude

Milc

Milc has been one of Portland hip-hop’s best-kept secrets for a while now. But at some point last year, it seems like he decided enough was enough, then flipped the a switch and has just been in a crazy-prolific zone ever since. He’s been relentlessly dropping projects every couple of months now (teaming up with producers Calvin Valentine, Sxlxmxn and Lawz Spoken), and he just keeps getting better with each one. I’m most impressed with how precise and efficient he is with his writing–he takes no bars off and makes sure that every single line in his verses hits exactly how it should.”

AJ Suede

Suede’s own hip-hop odyssey starts at age 14 in a Harlem after-school music program, and moves through the dregs of the MISHKA era in New York City, and the goth trap movement of Seattle collective Thraxxhouse, until he eventually becomes Darth Sueder and releases a steady stream of albums—Avada KedavraHundred Year DarknessMetatron’s Cube—on which he delivers meditative knowledge over moody, underground boom bap. He learned to love the process—a path not defined by a singular moment or album but by a lifetime quest toward excellence. “I don’t think I was ever really designed to crack the code,” he says. “The code keeps changing. I’m a marathon runner.”

Greg Cypher

In a time where artists are celebrated for how much they sound alike Greg Cypher sets himself apart by doing what a lot of people are afraid to do. Being himself. After years of grinding the Seattle music scene as 1/2 of the "real high, thrill ride" duo Kung Foo Grip. Greg Cypher has embarked on his own journey as the reigning "King of The Vibes", not just as an MC (who continues to have one of the best live hip hop shows on the west coast) but also as beatmaker, producer, and curator. With so much on the horizon, Greg Cypher is one of the few new underground artists to pay attention to! Don't Sleep.

Deniro Farrar

Deniro Farrar, is an American rapper from Charlotte, North Carolina.[6] He has collaborated with other artists such as Ryan Hemsworth,[7] Shady Blaze,[8] and Flosstradamus.[9] His voice was described by The Fader as "an eerily calm rasp that never leaves the emotional range of fuming mad

Televangel

Ian Taggart is a former member of the genre-defying production duo, Blue Sky Black Death, which was widely credited with being some of the early architects of the popular “cloud rap” sound. Now, Ian (FKA Young God), one half of this innovative team, is releasing boundary pushing instrumental and collaborative work under the alias TELEVANGEL. His work spans multiple genres: from meditative post-rock ambient compositions to bass-heavy downtempo electronic and more recently to a sparse yet forward-thinking boom bap hip hop.
