Low Hums
Low Hums are a wild rock and roll band from Seattle Washington, comprised of some very long time close friends. Musically, there are a lot of influences.. Probably too many to name. If you added up all the years each member has been playing in bands, buying records, listening to music.. Lets just say it’s a long time. Here’s a swing at it. First Psychedelic Era 1965-1968, Acid Rock, 70’s rock, 80’s skate rock, The Sonics, Dead Moon, Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd… Early British Invasion like ‘Them’ or you know the Rolling Stones.. and perhaps a bit of Weird Spaghetti Western, Funkadelic, Howlin’ Wolf, Sun Ra….
Since starting officially in 2009, there have been several versions of the band.. Early stuff was 'expermental / drone’, then dark/folk. Now many years later and in their best stripped down two guitars, bass, drums rock n roll band.
On August 25 2017, Low Hums released their fourth LP 'Night Magic Wine’ to the world via Union Zero. Produced and recorded by recording legend Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Tad, Screaming Trees) Night Magic Wine is the best and strongest album yet. Very 'rock n roll’!! The reviews are already coming in and so far they have been pretty coool. Available NOW on Digital, Super Deluxe Purple 'Haze’ Vinyl, and Compact Disc. One reviewer, after hearing the new single 'Too Early Too Tell’ described the bands sound as 'psychedelic, swagger and southern glam!’
Woah, it’s 2018 now. We have MORE RELEASES.
First up, Union Zero will release 'LOS DOS’, the lost 3rd Low Hums album on April 21 2018 as a Record Store Day release. LOS DOS brings two cassette only EP’s together again in a deluxe vinyl package for the first time ever. 2014’s 'Adventuring in the Near and Far EP’ takes side A, while 2015’s 'Shine Rock EP’ does it to you on side B. Both EP’s were recorded in the remote fishing village of Anacortes Washington in a old church. Production credits go to Trevor Spencer (Fleet Foxes, FJM), Randall Dunn (Earth, Sunn0))), Marissa Nadler, Anna Von Hausswolff), and Nich Wilbur. The LOS DOS LP is fully re-mastered by legendary Seattle engineer Chris Hanzsek and sounds amazing.
Second up, we have a 2018 release on Germany’s KOZMIK ARTIFACTZ. This release will feature 2017’s Night Magic Wine + Shine Rock EP as bonus tracks. Available on the European Continent summer 2018 in deluxe gatefold colored ( its a surprise ) vinyl. Available in fine record stores and online.
